Step 1. Uninstalling Lightning Speed Dial and Awesomehp viruses from the Control Panel of your computer.

Instructions for Windows XP, Vista and 7 operating systems:

  1. Make sure that all your browsers infected with Lightning Speed Dial and Awesomehp viruses are shut down (closed).
  2. Click “Start” and go to the “Control Panel“:

  8. Uninstall programs related to Lightning Speed Dial and Awesomehp. To do it, in Windows XP click “Remove” button related to it. In Windows Vista and 7 right-click the following programs with the PC mouse and click “Uninstall / Change“:
    • Desk 365 (could also be installed if you have Nation Zoom browser hijacker)
    • awesomehp Browser Protecter
    • IePluginService12.27.0.3326
    • SupTab
    • WPM17.8.0.3325

    Instructions for Windows 8 operating system:

    1. Move the PC mouse towards the top right hot corner of Windows 8 screen, click “Search“:

    3. Type “Uninstall a program“, then click “Settings“:

    5. In the left menu that has come up select “Uninstall a program“:

    7. Uninstall programs related to Lightning Speed Dial and Awesomehp (as explained above for Windows XP, Vista and 7 operating systems).

    Step 2. Removing Lightning Speed Dial and Awesomehp from the list of add-ons and extensions of your browser.

    In addition to removal of Lightning Speed Dial and Awesomehp from the Control Panel of your PC as explained above, you also need to remove this adware from the add-ons or extensions of your browser. Remove any items related to this particular adware and other unwanted applications installed on your PC.

    Step 3. Scanning your computer with reliable and effective security software for removal of all adware remnants.

    1. Download Plumbytes Anti-Malware through the download button above.
    2. Install the program and scan your computer with it.
    3. At the end of scan click “Apply” to remove all infections associated with this adware.
    4. Important! It is also necessary that you reset your browsers with Plumbytes Anti-Malware after this particular adware removal. Shut down all your available browsers now.
    5. In Plumbytes Anti-Malware click “Tools” tab and select “Reset browser settings“:

    7. Select which particular browsers you want to be reset and choose the reset options:

    9. Click “Reset browser settings” button.
    10. You will receive the confirmation windows about browser settings reset successfully.

  1. I followed 3 different sets of instruction found on other sites but there steps all failed to remove the hijack.

It is a regret that these viruses are getting more and more stubborn. Before it used to be much easier to get rid of them manually, without paying for any program. Right now it seems that Trojan Killer is really necessary for complete removal. If you need my help in free removal of this hijacker, please let me know via chat.

      Other sites promise removal with free software. But none of them work.
      MalwareBytes found the source but could not (did not) eliminate it.
      The Trojan Killer scan I just performed did NOT find a credible source but wants money to remove other software.
      How do I know that Trojan Killer will manage to do what it promises ?

      2. Scan with Trojan Killer. Remove all infections found. Then click “Tools” and “Reset browser settings” in Trojan Killer. This should help.

  5. Apparently, Speed Dial is rooted. After doing all that you suggest (independently), and after running CCleaner and Norton Power Eraser, and after shifting back to an earlier restore point, Speed Dial keeps running as the primary search engine. It disguises itself, but you can see it in the web address bar for a split second after hitting enter on a web search (doesn’t matter which one-Google, Bing, etc.). Any other Ideas (other than reformatting and reinstalling)?

    1. In Trojan Killer click “Tools” and “Reset browser settings”. This should fix the problem, because scanning is not enough.
